Have you ever had a minor injury and wished you could ask a neighbor to grab you a few things at Grant’s, but didn’t know who to ask? How about you have a book waiting for pickup here at the Library, but you can’t make it before we close? Can you think of any other time when you had a task, large or small, with which you needed a hand? Who among us hasn’t been in that situation? I know I have.
I also know that when I have asked for help for the Library, say, taking something to the dump or providing extra muscle for a project, I am overwhelmed with fabulously generous friends. Working with a small committee of volunteers, we are proud to offer a new community listserv, we have named, Jackson Bridge, designed to help unite helpful people with neighbors needing a boost.
A listserv is an electronic mailing list to which you can subscribe and then any message that is sent to it gets distributed to everyone else who is subscribed. My idea is to encourage anyone in our Jackson Community who is willing to help another or who needs some help to sign up.
You can find more information, including some guidelines for usage on our new Jackson Bridge webpage. If you have trouble signing up, have questions, or any other concerns, please reach out to me or the staff at the Library.
