Celebrating Dr. Seuss

March 2nd would have been the 111th birthday of beloved author Dr. Seuss. To honor him, we have a Do-It-Yourself Truffula project set up in the children’s room. Stop by and create your own Truffula forest, because Truffulas are what everyone needs! We also have a special Dr. Seuss scavenger hunt sheet available for kids. Just stop by the front desk and pick up a copy. Kids can pick out a prize for participating.

Did you know that Dr. Seuss, whose real name was Theodore Seuss Geisel, also published books under the name of Theo LeSieg? He used the name Lesieg when he wrote the text, but did not create the illustrations, for a book. LeSieg is Geisel spelled backwards!

On a different note, and not related to Dr. Seuss, we have a new nonfiction book display up in the children’s room. See if you can figure out the common theme among the books and let us know!
