We are looking for a part-time library aide and substitute to provide Jackson Library patrons with excellent library services. Our first priority is to make every person in the building feel welcome and empowered.
You must be comfortable working alone. You will be expected to be able to provide assistance with cell phones, tablets, online accounts, etc – this often requires solving issues on your feet and creativity. You will need a working understanding of library organization, dewey decimal system, and current library trends. Familiarity with different types of applications will help you to navigate our systems for tracking items and record keeping – we do most everything online. Must be able to multitask in a busy, fast paced, sometimes demanding environment – and make it look effortless! All while keeping the building secure, safe, and enjoyable to all within.
This position is year-round at an average of 3 hours per week; sometimes more and sometimes fewer. If you are flexible, we are too. In order to apply, please deliver a completed cover letter and application to Lichen Rancourt [firstname.lastname@example.org] at the Library via any avenue you choose – email, by hand, post, or courier are all welcome. This is a fun and challenging place to work!
