How green you are and fresh in this old world

We were delighted, surprised, and blessed to have another giant round of anonymous wishlist buying. 17 books came in for us! We filled in some gaps in our Magic Tree House series since a few families are working their way through them. This person (I assume it’s one person) has spent hundreds over the last year on books for our collection. I have no idea who it is. If you happen to read this, kind soul, please know what an enormous gift you have provided your community and how utterly grateful we are. We (really, more than one of us) have been moved to tears as the packages arrive. Thank you.

This month I read Chris Bohjalian’s new title, The Flight Attendant and our own Lisa Gardner’s Find Her for book group. With a body count, neither is my usual material. They were dark and upsetting, but illuminated a world that I do not know. Having listened to Lisa discuss her writing process and why she writes thrillers, I have a new perspective on them that appeals to me in a different way. I’m looking forward to reading another of Lisa’s.

I have just started a supernatural, historic fiction which is much lighter and I admit I am enjoying the emotional break! Things are busy as usual around here. Our Interlibrary Loan system is still unavailable so we are continuing to beg patience from you as the State Library continues the process of replacing it.

All the best to you my sunshiney friends.
