New Year's increase to our fee for non-resident Library cards

According to our policy, we provide free Library cards to all residents of the Jackson community. Those who live outside of our town are invited to purchase a Library card.

In order to keep that charge comparable with the percentage of municipal taxes that support the Library we find that must raise the annual fee from $25 to $35 beginning January 1st, 2016. Still less than the cost of two hardcover books, a Jackson Library card allows you to check out books as well as DVDs, book and music CDs, games and puzzles, a broad selection of magazines, download audio or eBooks, and grants you access to our research databases.

To soften the blow a bit have begun accepting credit cards so you can buy your membership with plastic instead of worrying about a checkbook.

If you have any concerns or questions about this change, please contact me directly. We are looking forward to seeing you in 2016!
