On Your Mark, Get Set…READ!

Summer Reading 2016 has arrived at the Jackson Public Library, and once again we are looking forward to an action-packed, fun-filled July.

For starters, listen to this terrific service announcement by Newbery Medal author Kate DiCamillo.

Join us for a season kick-off on Monday, June 20th at 1pm for a movie showing. The movie is rated G, fits with our sports theme, has plenty of Iditarod action and cute puppies as well!

This year we will once again offer two four-week programs in July, one for elementary school-aged children (for kids in grades K-6), and one for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers. No preregistration is required and all are most welcome.

Our weekly themes this summer will be as follows:

Elementary School Program, Tuesdays in July from 3:15-4:30
July 5th: Games
July 12th: Sports
July 19th: Build it, Bounce it
July 26th: Obstacle Course Action

Storytime Program, Thursdays in July starting at 10:30
July 7th: YOGA
July 14th: Being Active
July 21st: Games
July 28th: Back to Nature

Many thanks to our local sponsors who generously contribute prizes and supplies to our programs every year: Backcountry Cafe, Flossie’s, Hannaford, J-Town Deli, Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf, Portland Sea Dogs, and Story Land.

Don’t miss our mid-season Extravaganza with Bob Riodan as he presents his “World of Wonder” Magic and Comedy Show on Wednesday, July 13th at 5:30pm at the Jackson Library

“Bob Riordan’s Wonder Show offers an unforgettable experience into the world of magic – a world of which you become a part.”

Funding for the Kids, Books and the Arts Grant event is provided by the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation, CHILIS, Cogswell Benevolent Trust, and is supported in part by a grant from the NH State Council on the Arts & the National Endowment for the Arts as well as funds administered by the NH State Library and provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Many thanks to all for making this program possible!

This program, as well as all our Summer Reading Program activities, is free and open to the public.

In addition to our Summer Reading Program, our LEGOS at the LIBRARY will meet every Thursday in July from 4:30 to 5:30.

Please check back often as this page will be updated with miscellaneous information as summer approaches.

*Please note that there will be no regularly scheduled children’s programming at the library in August. Storytime and the Lego Club will resume again as usual in September. Thank you for your understanding.*
