Ribbon Cutting for Patio & Pergola on Saturday

Please join the Library Board of Trustees on Saturday, October 13th at 1pm to officially open our new patio and pergola. Remarks will be shared by Sarah Duffy, Chair of the Board of Trustees; Richard Bennett, Chair of Jackson Board of Selectmen; and Suzanne Scolamiero, member of the Jackson Women’s Sewing Club. Light refreshments will be served.

When the Jackson Women’s Sewing Club dissolved in spring of 2017, they wanted to commemorate their 100 years of service to the town and donated their accounts to the library to partially fund the construction of a patio. Contemplating the outdoor space with windows and a southern exposure, it seemed obvious that we would also need shade. Library Board Member, Roger Aubrey, worked for months designing a pergola to complement our beautiful building and make the new outdoor space more usable. He recruited some incredible volunteers to help him to erect the structure in Memory of William Mack Beal, Jackson Resident who passed away in 2014.

It was truly a community effort and I hope to you on Saturday.
