Summer Program Wrap-Up

We enjoyed a whirlwind of activity at the Jackson Library as we celebrated our annual Summer Reading Program, this year titled A Universe of Stories!  The numerous children involved listened to stories, talked about books, learned about nocturnal animals and constellations, made straw rockets, observed life at the International Space Station, decorated cookies with Zodiac signs, built with LEGOs, and so much more. We thrive on the energy and enthusiasm of these children, and we appreciate the support our generous community provided as we engaged with our young patrons all summer.

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to the local businesses who partnered with us and donated incentives for our eager readers: Autumn Nomad Cafe, Dairy Queen Glen, the J-Town Deli, Kringle’s Country Store, NH Fisher Cats, Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf, Portland Sea Dogs, and Story Land. We also want to extend our heart-felt thanks to the Tin Mountain Conservation Center for a wonderful and dynamic program on nocturnal animals. The children loved using their own senses to learn about the adaptations of these animals.

Happy Back-to-School, and we look forward to seeing you at the library again soon.
