Description
Set in Washington, D.C., this political thriller follows Senator Laine Hanson (Joan Allen) as she is nominated by President Jackson Evans (Jeff Bridges) to be the first woman Vice President after the sudden death of the current VP. Hanson faces a brutal confirmation process and becomes the target of a smear campaign led by Congressman Sheldon Runyon (Gary Oldman), who dredges up allegations from her past.
