Description
PERDITA DURANGO is Álex de la Iglesia’s boldly subversive Spanish / Mexican sequel to WILD AT HEART, co-scripted by Barry Gifford and starring Rosie Perez and Javier Bardem with a supporting cast that includes James Gandolfini, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Santiago Segura and REPO MAN director Alex Cox. The eccentric, borderline surreal tale of a psychotic criminal couple (an utterly ferocious Perez taking on the role of Isabela Rossellini’s character in the Lynch film, playing opposite Bardem as you’ve never seen him before) barreling through a voodoo-laced odyssey of crime that spans a trail of destruction from Mexico to Las Vegas. It’s an intense, funny and disturbing film, bursting with unexpected moments and vibrant with de la Iglesia’s breathtaking visual flair and provocative social commentary. Official Selection at the **Toronto International Film Festival**.
